Life goes on...

Pasha really enjoys being a big brother.
Everybody needs to catch up on sleep during the day, even the cat!

Welcome Wigglebean!

Dmitri Antonio Tatarinov was born Thurs. Nov 12 at ~4pm. 9lbs. 8 oz, 21 inches.
We'll call him Dima (dee-ma).

Apparently I just grow big babies. We are extremely happy with the decision to go ahead with a planned C-section - another big baby would have meant another long labor likely to end in c-section anyway. He came out crying and ready to nurse, though content to suck his fingers until I was stitched up. He spent the first hour of his life wiggling and stretching out his legs, like he'd been waiting a long time to get them straight. He nursed well all night and by 4am had pooped for the first time- officially a fully functioning human!!

I'm doing well with my recovery. Already up and walking this morning and allowed to eat real food. Possibly we'll be headed home Saturday, but more likely first thing Sunday morning. Pasha is home with Grandma and knows that Mommy and Papa are 'at the doctor getting baby brother'. So far he seems okay with that, but I'm sure after a few days/weeks he'll be ready to send the baby back!

More photos to follow as things settle down and we get some rest.

check back Thursday!

As I approach my due date (this Thursday) the midwives are seeing very little signs of progress toward labor. And considering the size of Pasha (10lbs 14 oz) they are reluctant to let me go much past the due date.....and since I had a C-section with Pasha induction is not an option.....

So, Thursday morning we head in for a C-section and by Thursday evening our new little boy will be here!
I am not excited about having another surgery, but skipping the 3 days of sleep deprivation for an unproductive, painful, labor that I experienced before Pasha was born does have its upside.

38 weeks- the Wigglebean still wiggling

38.5 weeks and ready for this baby to come out! I've even resorted to acupuncture!

Have started feeling periodic 'pre-labor' contractions but nothing that indicates the real thing yet. Out baby out!

Fact: very pregnant women do not like pictures of themselves at any angle.
Igor refused to take any more after about 6. So I'm stuck with this one, puffy face and all!

Halloween party at preschool

I forgot my camera, but our friend Jessie (Izzy's mom) didn't, so check out her blog for pictures of Pasha and his school friends dressed up for Halloween:

Fall fun

The pictures are a little past due- earlier in October we went to a farm to pick pumpkins and Pasha also got to feed chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigs etc. Too much fun!

Pasha in the pumpkin patch, it took a long time to find one that wasn't "too big!" but eventually he found one that was just right.
